Geschwister

A day in the life of a family in West Germany. The daily routine of mother, father and three children on June 2nd, 1967. Time jump. The children of the keep-quiet generation accept their inheritance. At the centre of this work by Ersan Mondtag is the continuation of National Socialism in an upper-middle class West German family up to the beginning of the 21st century and the first murders committed by the NSU. What burden is carried by those who dared to oppose their parents? And how strong are the material and ideological continuities of this far-right inheritance today? How different can lives turn out to be when they begin at what seems to be the same point? Who makes which decisions and why in this family? Who has a choice? And who offers excuses?
