Based on Emine Sevgi Özdamar’s Die Brücke vom Goldenen Horn (The Bridge of the Golden Horn, 1998), this literary series is dedicated to traces of memory that lead to the women’s dormitory of the Telefunken company in Stresemannstraße. Between 1963 and 1969, the lives of almost 200 young women, mainly from Turkey, crossed there. A retrospective, a manifestation, a tribute to the move into the language of those for whom the factories called. Mindful of the diverse voices, social classes, aspirations, political urgencies, and hardships among the residents of this dormitory, this series celebrates an emerging literary language which is subversive and self-empowering. Against this backdrop, the literary experiences of migrantised workers and politically persecuted people from the 1960s to the present day should be centered again. Over the course of these events, intergenerational encounters will take place, those absent speaking through those present, authors encountering one another in their verses and stories.
