The PostOstCafé delves into the social and economic upheavals that have taken place since the collapse of socialism. Class shaped the supposedly classless society; its loss served as a means of political pressure – new social strata emerged, securities disappeared. These predicaments affect the psyche and structures, both real and fictional, of the invited authors, and are linked to migration and discrimination. The focus: How do changes affect us today? What role does class play in migration, and what does literary writing achieve?
