Svenja Liesau was born in Magdeburg in 1989 and finished her acting training in 2013 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. Even before she began her studies, she appeared in performances at Magdeburg's theatre, where she worked with directors like Jan Jochymski. In February 2013 she became a member of the ensemble at Berlin's Maxim Gorki Theatre, where she worked with Armin Petras and Jan Bosse, among others. From 2013 to 2017 she was part of the ensemble at Stuttgart's state theatre. Liesau has been a member of the Gorki ensemble since the 2017/2018 season. In the 2020/2021 season she can be seen there in Schwarzer Block as well as in Und sicher ist mit mir die Welt verschwunden, both staged by Sebastian Nübling.
