Orit Nahmias

Orit Nahmias was born in Jerusalem in 1977 and studied acting at the Seminar Hakibutzim in Tel Aviv. Her drama Why Me? was honored at the Israeli TeatroNeto Festival in 2008. Orit Nahmias has appeared in various theatre productions in Israel, including Taxi, Revizor and Reluctant Heroes. She appeared at the Schaubühne in Dritte Generation and Day Before the Last Day by Yael Ronen & Company. In 2013 she wrote with Dalia Castel the film script for the documentary Jerusalem for Cowards.At the Gorki she acts in productions such as Common Ground, Erotic Crisis, The Situation, Denial, A Walk On The Dark Side and Yes but No directed by Yael Ronen, as well as in In Unserem Namen, directed by Sebastian Nübling. She can also be seen in Falk Richter's Verräter – Die Letzten Tage and Ersan Mondtag's Ödipus Und Antigone and Salome. Orit Nahmias has been a member of the Gorki ensemble since the 2015/2016 season. In 2017 Orit Nahmias presented a double bill together with Jilet Ayşe in Studio Я, including Nahmias’ stand-up show Female Shit about the pathetic attempt to be a successful actress, caring mother and foreigner in Berlin all at the same time. In the 2020/2021 season she can be seen in Ersan Mondtag's production It's going to get worse.
