Stefan Czura

Stefan Czura, born in Wangen im Allgäu.  As director, he already gained his first experience as an assistant director in drama during his studies in Theater and Media Studies and French-Romance Studies. After permanent engagements in musical theater, including Theater Hof (2018/2020) and Theater Magdeburg (2020/2021), he moved to the Maxim Gorki Theater for the 2021/2022 season. There, Stefan Czura assisted Ersan Mondtag, Christian Weise and Leonie Böhm, among others, with NOORRRAAAAAAA. On the harp, he participates as a stage musician in the latter production.

 

Recently he worked as assistant director at La Monnaie, Opera Antwerp and Festival d` Aix-en-Provence and Ruhrtriennale. He repeatedly worked with the director Tobias Kratzer.

 

In 2020 Stefan Czura was awarded the Audience Prize in the semifinals of the Rings Awards for the concept for the competition opera Don Giovanni.

From October 2022 Stefan Czura will study musical theater directing at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
