Born and raised in Vienna, Elena Schmidt has lived in Berlin for several years. She completed her acting studies in Salzburg at the Mozarteum. She has had theatre engagements at venues such as the Salzburg Festival, the Volkstheater Wien, the Schauspiel Hannover and the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. She has worked with Jürgen Flimm, Amélie Niermeyer, Nurkan Erpulat, Nora Schlocker, Florian Fiedler, Anna Badora, Staffan Valdemar Holm, Kevin Rittberger, Guillermo Calderon and Dries Verhouven. In addition to her work in the theatre, she has appeared in several short and feature films including »Local Heroes« by Henning Backhaus and »Wie man leben soll« by David Schalko. In the radio sector, she has collaborated with stations including Deutschlandradio, Ö1, WDR and BR. In addition to her voice work, she has also been active as a director and dramaturg for the radio since 2012. Elena Schmidt has been part of the Gorki ensemble since the 2019/2020 season.
