The artist talks series Kosmos² has become a space to re-think artistic practices and political interventions – a space where artists who were forced to leave home and cross borders give an insight into their work. After an artist residency in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, Grada Kilomba will continue the series focussing on Illustration and Visual Arts. With the two female artists invited, she will explore the power of visuals to explain, interpret, and recover her-stories.

The series Kosmos² is funded by the Allianz Kulturstiftung and curated by Grada Kilomba in collaboration with Studio Я.

Die Reihe Kosmos² bietet Raum, künstlerische Arbeitsweisen und politische Interventionen neu zu denken. Künstler*innen, die gezwungen wurden, ihre Heimat zu verlassen und Grenzen zu überschreiten, geben im Gespräch mit Grada Kilomba Einblick in ihre Arbeit. Die elfte Ausgabe ist verschiedenen Formen der Illustration und der Visual Arts gewidmet. Gemeinsam mit den zwei eingeladenen Künstlerinnen erforschen wir die Kraft der Visuals, Geschichte(n) zu erklären, zu interpretieren und zurückzugewinnen.
