Weibliche Migration, Widerstand & wilde Streiks

Talk

The first wildcat strikes in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany were organized by female migrant workers in the late 1960s. The discussion group talks about the resistance practices of then and now and asks why migration is still seen as a male issue.

With Elisabeth Kimmerle (Leibniz Center for Contemporary History Research Potsdam), Gün Tank (author), Atiye Altül (activist)

The event series LIFE, LOVE, WORK & RESISTANCE brings together the pioneers of the Telefunken company's women's dormitory with their daughters and granddaughters, takes a look at the company's history between consumer electronics and arms production, examines the legendary wildcat strikes of the 1970s, discusses the visibility of female migrant workers in film art, and, last but not least, follows the traces of (post)migrant art and cultural practice from 1960 to the present day.
