La Merda

Anger sits there. Naked, squeaky, ugly, disturbing and uncompromising, she sits in the form of a woman on a chair and talks about the big dream: moving on up, a path out of the hopelessness of poverty, human loneliness, towards becoming a star on television. And if she can only get in through commercials, then there is nothing she won't try to polish herself smooth for a better version of life.

»The play La Merda is the winner of six prominent theatre prizes—including the coveted Scotsman Fringe First Award and the Stage Award for best actress (Silvia Gallerano)—and shocked the theatre world in 2012 at its premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.«
