Frau mit einem Kleid aus Sandsäcken

Krieg ich nicht

Performance

A sculpture in the Marmorsaal stands surrounded by the piles of sandags we know from war zones. Its body is immobile, its actions have been paralyzed for a long time. And yet she is awake and speaks to the architecture, the busts, the paintings around her, the silent witnesses of past orders, speaking of torn bodies, desperate existences, societies  that have fallen apart in war. Confronted with the collapse of collective structures of meaning, she addresses those historical relics that once sought to embody shared values — and now remain silent. A sculpture asks whether it is possible, in the face of  destruction, to still take responsibility — or at least to conceive of a way out.
