Werner Eng

Werner Eng, born 1967 in Brazil, studied acting and directing at the Novalis Schule für Sprachgestaltung und Dramatische Kunst Stuttgart. Engagements led him to the Novalis Stage Stuttgart (1987 until 1995), the Theater St. Pölten (1995 until 1997), the Junge Theater Göttingen (1998 until 2001). Since 2001 he has been working as a freelancer and at theatres in Basel, Vienna, Graz, Zurich, Magdeburg, Dessau, the Maxim Gorki Theater and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin. In 2006 he was a permanent member of the Hans Otto Theater ensemble in Potsdam. He worked with directors such as Sebastian Hartmann, Lukas Langhoff and Sebastian Baumgarten and was a member of the ensemble in the productions of Herbert Fritsch at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz Berlin: Die (S)panische Fliege (2011), Murmel Murmel (2012), Frau Luna (2013), Ohne Titel Nr. 1 (2014) and der die mann (2015). 2017 until 2020  he was a member of the ensemble at the Berliner Schaubühne. With the Herbert Fritsch productions Die (S)panische Fliege, Murmel Murmel and Ohne Titel Nr. 1 he was invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen. In 2011 he directed Pension Schöller at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau. He can be seen at the Maxim Gorki in the production Amerika.
