Yagiz Karyna is an actress, director, and theater educator. She was born in Ukraine (Khmelnytskyi). In 2017, she graduated from the I. K. Karpenko-Karyi National University of Theater, Film, and Television in Kyiv, specializing in acting for dramatic theater and film. In 2018, she also completed a master’s degree at the University of Culture and Arts in Kyiv, specializing in directing and teaching in the performing arts.
From 2018 to 2022, she worked as an actress and singer at the Kyiv Academic Music and Drama Theater Romance. In 2021, she worked as an actress and vocalist with The Möbius Art Projects and appeared in the musicals Agathocla and Broadway & More. In addition to her theater work, she also took on roles in television series. In 2022, she was awarded a presidential scholarship for her artistic achievements.
In Berlin, she worked at the Theater Neue Bühne Friedrichshain as the director of the production Achtung! Die Affenbrotbäume. At Haus Bastian, she presented the text recitation Das Waldlied. In addition, she leads acting workshops and artistic training sessions.
She is currently appearing at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin in the production Kassandra, directed by Marta Górnicka.
