Gün Tank

Gün Tank is an author and moderator. Following her journalism degree at the Marmara University, Istanbul, she completed a Master of Public Administration at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Tank was a curator of the 22:14 ...und es kamen Frauen exhibition (2011), which portrayed the first generation of women who immigrated to West Germany to work, and the CrossKultur event series, an annual cultural programme of readings, exhibitions, concerts, theatre, film and conferences. Today she is commissioner for people with disabilities in the district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg. In 2015 and 2021 she received work-and-research fellowships in literature from the state of Berlin. Die Optimistinnen. Roman unserer Mütter (The Optimists. Novel of our Mothers) is her debut novel and was published by S. Fischer Verlage in September 2022. On 18/January 2024 DIE OPTIMISTINNEN celebrated its world premiere at the Gorki.
