Evelin Facchini

Evelin Facchini is a freelance choreographer, director and dancer born in Rome and based in Berlin. She works internationally in dance, theatre and opera. She graduated from the ballet school of the Rome Opera House and she further continued her studies in contemporary dance in Canada. Among her collaborations: Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Italy) , Romeo Castellucci, Socìetas (Italy), Ballet Classique de France et Montreal, Concordia University of Montreal (Canada), Micha van Hoecke (Belgium), Larrio Ekson (Usa), Dina Abu Hamdan (Jordan), Teatret Om (Denmark), Floriane Facchini & Cie (France), David Stöhr (Germany) , Marta Górnicka (Poland), Oliver Frljić. She leads education projects and workshops for students and professionals across movement research and choreographic composition. She directed the dance studio Theatre Dance Division in Rome from 2011 until 2018. She created Metalouda her personal project, which developed out of her intent to share and develop her composition practices and choreographic research, creating installations, short movies, performances. Since 2011 she works with Romeo Castellucci as choreographer and performer, in 2019 she is the choreographer for Requiem premiered at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and in 2023 for Daphne premiered at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin. In 2022 she starts collaborating with Marta Górnicka for the project Political Voice Institute at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin and in September 2023 for Górnicka’s new production Mothers a song for wartime. On March 2023 her production Wry/Second layer_anatomy of deception is performed in Berlin Heizhaus-Uferstudios. In 2024 starts her collaboration with director Oliver Frljić for the production Alice im Wunderland at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin.
