Abschiedsparty Studio Я

After three years, Studio Я director Murat Dikenci is stepping down—it’s time for a fresh new idea.
Following countless events, a huge number of premieres, and even more sold-out performances, he now firmly refuses to curate even one more event—let alone a farewell party.

So he is handing over everything that has accumulated—responsibility, spaces, possibilities, perhaps even a bit of chaos—to the people who usually work behind the scenes to make everything possible for Studio Я and the Maxim Gorki Theater.

Colleagues who primarily work backstage have carte blanche and are organizing this final evening on their own. No dramaturgy, no final authority. Just trust, intuition, and an attempt to reimagine the space one last time.

Exactly what will happen is beyond control.
The only thing that has been leaked through the rumor mill: a dramatic karaoke night, secret concert guests, perhaps a microphone left on too long, likely voices that are otherwise never heard.

An evening between backstage and the stage, between improvisation and farewell, between overwhelm and euphoria.
An evening that can’t be explained, but simply happens.

Celebrate with us and take the stage.
Give us a medley or whatever comes straight from your heart.
Come alone, come together, come loud or quiet—but come.

We look forward to seeing all the people who made Studio Я what it was: a place of contradictions, encounters, and experiments between pop and post-drama.
