Patteran

Performance by and with Dan Turner

By breaking ground and seeding flowers, the British artist Dan Turner uses patteran to mark where the Travellers, Roma, and Gypsies have been and where they are going. Seeds grow slowly and are self-renewing. They are a metaphor for the Romani diaspora: A symbol of establishing in bare soil, growing in this new ground, re-imagining landscapes.
