On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of North Korea's independence from Japan, the ex-Yugoslav cult band Laibach becomes the first foreign rock group ever to perform in North Korea in 2015. This sounds absurd, as Laibach itself was controversial and even banned in the country where the group was formed. A film team, including co-director Morten Traavik, who organised the concert, accompanies Laibach on their journey to what is still the most isolated country in the world and documents the rehearsals, which are repeatedly interrupted by technical breakdowns and requests for changes from several censors. Finally, Laibach play cover songs from The Sound of Music in front of 1,500 hand-picked and only moderately enthusiastic listeners. Meanwhile, propaganda loudspeakers are set up on the border between the two Koreas, pointing out the increasing international tensions.
