Gölge – Zukunft der Liebe

The female workers leave the factory: Film & Talk

Co-directed at the dffb, Sema Poyraz's graduation film established the so-called »German-Turkish cinema« and is still fresh, radical and visionary today, 45 years after it was produced. The eponymous Gölge, 18 years old, daughter of Turkish immigrants, lives in Kreuzberg and tries to find her place in the world. Her desire to become an actress and forge her own path leads to a rift with her parents.
