Anadolu Kültür was founded in 2002 on the initiative of Osman Kavala as a non-profit cultural institution that brings together people from various fields of art, business and civil society. In 2022, Anadolu Kültür celebrated its 20th anniversary with a variety of activities. That same year, production began on the documentary, Feeding the River: 20 Years of Anadolu Kültür, which reflects on the organization’s 20-year journey while addressing the developments in civil society as well as in the arts and culture scene in Turkey over the past two decades. Feeding the River is an attempt to reflect on how the pressing issues of Turkey can be addressed through art, and to reconsider the importance of »keeping up against all odds« within the country’s social and political context from an »insider’s perspective«.
