Democratic Eis is a pop-up ice cream kiosk that serves political imagination in scoops with sprinkles. Customers are invited to build their »ideal democracy« using a menu full of strange and symbolic ingredients. Each topping represents a wish, a tension, or a contradiction. Yet, no one gets to make their perfect ice cream alone – wishes need to be compromised with the help of the shop owner to get a taste of Democratic ice. The ice cream parlor becomes a temporary stage of discussion, bargaining, and balancing wishes.
