Vigen Galstyan

Vigen Galstyan is an art historian and curator based in Yerevan, Armenia. He holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Sydney and has contributed extensively to the fields of Armenian photography, cinema, and modern and contemporary art through exhibitions, film programs, essays, research databases, and books. From 2020 to 2023, Vigen led the Film Heritage department at the National Cinema Centre. He currently serves as the curator of photography and head of exhibitions at the National Gallery of Armenia. In 2023, he founded the ManBan Archive of Visual Culture, an independent platform dedicated to the collection, preservation, and study of Armenian art, design, and cinema. His upcoming projects include the first monograph on the Ukrainian-Armenian artist Valentin Podpomogov, a historical overview of Armenian industrial design, and the first museum surveys of Armenian photography and avant-garde art.
