Sophia Slamani

Sorah is a politically engaged rap artist from Berlin’s underground scene with roots in the UK and Algeria. Having grown up in several countries, she blends musical influences such as grime, drill, trap, and soul, and performs in multiple languages—English, French, and German. In addition to her own artistic work, she is active as a rap and performance coach and has been working for years with children and young people, particularly in projects for marginalized groups. In doing so, she creates spaces for creative expression and empowerment. Her lyrics are characterized by clear political messages on topics such as freedom, anti-capitalism, and resistance against structural inequality. She also combines art and activism in her theater work, including in the play Kassandra.
