Seyyare

Seyyare – Anatolian Women’s Choir

The Seyyare – Anatolian Women’s Choir emerged from spontaneous singing together during the funeral ceremony for Filiz Taşkın, a pioneer of migrant resistance who died on 17/January 2024. Under the direction of singer Sema Moritz, the choristers with experience of migration and exile bring centuries old folk songs from Anatolia, the Balkans, the Caucasus and the Middle East to the stage on International Women’s Day.
