Robert Lippok

Robert Lippok was born in Berlin in 1966. He trained in the theatre and has been active in various groups as a musician and visual artist since his youth. In 1983 he founded »Ornament und Verbrechen« with his brother Ronald, and in the 90s they played together with Stefan Schneider as »to rococo rot«, releasing their recordings on various labels such as Kitty-Yo, City Slang and Staubgold. Furthermore »to rococo rot« produced sound works for other artists including Olaf Nicolai, Doug Aitken and Takehito Koganezawa. Since 2001 he’s released his solo projects on raster-media, as a visual artist he’s continued to create works that engage directly with architectural spaces. Lippok has been collaborating with Sebastian Baumgarten since 1993. He’s created set and costume designs for the Volksbühne Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin and Staatstheater Kassel.
