Ralph Heidel is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He combines electronic music with jazz and contemporary classical music. After studying jazz saxophone and composition at the Munich University of Music, he now lives and works in Berlin. With his debut album Moments of Resonance (2019), he established himself as an innovative sound researcher. This was followed by Relief (2021), as well as works for theater, film and art. Since 2022, he has been the musical director for Casper and increasingly active as a producer for artists such as Apsilon, Ben Bazzazian and Finn Ronsdorf. He is also in demand in the field of modern classical music, including for the Dandelion Quintet and the Berlin Strings Quartet. He received international attention with Modern Life (2022). In 2025, anyways onto better things was released on his own label Friends with Oranges. Heidel collaborates with international artists such as Douglas Dare, Jun Miyake and Lisa Morgenstern.
