Penelope Tordai (Debrecen, 2014) is a young musical talent from Hungary, one of the winners of the Proud Roma Talent Competition in 2022, organized by the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC). Having been raised by her grandparents and taught by her grandfather, she began her formal cimbalom training at the age of six. Penelope aspires to carry on her family's musical traditions while also pursuing a professional career as a pediatrician. She plays the cimbalom with incredible enthusiasm and deep commitment and devotion. When not practicing the cimbalom or excelling in school, Penelope enjoys reading novels, drawing, visiting cinemas and cat cafes.
