Moritz Widrig

Moritz Widrig, (Mungg) was born in St. Gallen in 1994. In 2016 he completed his bachelor’s in composition for film, theatre and media at the Zurich University of the Arts and began his master’s in the same subject that same year, studying with the composer Mathias Steinauer, and film composers Peter Scherer and Niki Reiser. Since completing his studies, he has worked on a variety of projects from film through theatre to performance and video games with engagements at the OSI Lugano, Komische Oper Berlin, Luzener Theater and Swiss television. Together with his band, Panda Lux, he was nominated for a Swiss Music Award in 2018 and for the German Composition Funding Award that same year at the Dok.Fest München for his concept for Merci de Votre Visite, a documentary by Julia Furer. He currently works as a freelance musician for various theatre and film productions, as well as in bands such as Panda Lux, Steiner & Madlaina and Cybercity Space Septett. He lives in Basel, where he began in 2018 to work together more frequently with Jo Flueler (Aktomis), his partner in the Aktomungg duo.
