Mazda Adli was born in Cologne to Iranian parents and studied medicine in Bonn, Vienna and Paris. He is Professor of Psychiatry at the Charité, a stress researcher and Medical Director of the Fliedner Clinic in Berlin. His scientific work focuses on research into urban stress. His book Stress and the City, published in 2017, also deals with the effects of city life on the human psyche. Music helps him to cope with stress. He sings with the Singing Shrinks, the only psychiatrists' choir in the world, which he himself founded 25 years ago.
