At the age of 8, Lujain Mustafa (1995, Syria) began her dance training at the Damascus Ballet School. After graduating from high school in 2013, she studied for two years at the Academy of Performing Arts in Damascus. In 2015 she moved to Germany. She then studied dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts, completing her B.A. in 2021. In September 2021, she began an M.A. in Dance Composition/Interpretation at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, which she successfully completed in September 2023.
Her artistic work includes numerous theater productions and projects in which she collaborated with directors and choreographers. In doing so, she develops her practice in the field of tension between dance, theater, and performance.
In addition to her work as a dancer and performer, Lujain Mustafa is also active in film. Her first feature film Xoftex premiered at the Munich Film Festival in 2024. She also appeared in the TV production Die Stinos and created numerous short films in Arabic, English, and German.
