Lena Brasch

Lena Brasch, born in 1993 in Berlin-Pankow, is a German author and director. From 2009 to 2019, she worked as an assistant director and dramaturg at various theatres in Berlin, including the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, the Deutsches Theater and the Berliner Ensemble. She then worked as a literary agent. She also wrote for Das Wetter - Magazin für Text und Musik and published several essays and short stories in various anthologies. In 2019, she was selected by ZEIT as one of the »100 most important young East Germans« and profiled in an article about »East German artists who could change the republic«. Lena Brasch's debut production It's Britney, Bitch! premiered at the Berliner Ensemble in January 2022. The production was also reviewed in taz, ZEIT and The New York Times and was invited to the Radikal Jung Festival in summer 2022.
