Born in 1979 in Warsaw, Joanna Niemirska trained at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Kraków, where she completed her acting studies. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management. Her early education includes piano studies at a state music school in Bydgoszcz.
For over 25 years, she has worked as an actress in major theatres across Poland, including Teatr Ludowy in Kraków, Teatr Nowy in Warsaw (notably in The Ghost Sonata, directed by Markus Öhrn), Teatr Nowy in Łódź, and Teatr Wybrzeże in Gdańsk. In addition to her stage work, she appears in film and television.
She also works extensively with voice as a narrator and voice artist, recording audiobooks and other spoken formats.
Alongside her acting career, she has developed a strong practice in movement and body-based work. Since 2017, she has been a certified yoga teacher and actively teaches yoga and meditation. She has also participated in numerous theatre and dance workshops, including Gaga movement language.
She works in Polish, English, French, and German. Based in Berlin since 2025, she continues her work as a freelance actress.
