Inaam Al Battat

Inaam Al Battat (actress, singer, voice artist), born in 1962 in Al Schiukh, Iraq, grew up in a family of musicians. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and began her career as a freelance actress and singer. For thirteen years she was part of the ensemble at the National Theatre in Baghdad, where she received multiple awards as Best Leading Actress (1983, 1987, 1989, and 1990).

In 2001 she released her first CD La Paloma, followed in 2002 by Listen to My Song. On stage, she appeared in the 2005 theater project Not Heaven, Not Hell. In 2006 she performed in Strange Like You and Me and The Voice of Silence with the Nar Theatre Group in Berlin. In 2011 she took part in Laubenkolonie Zaunkönige e. V. (Chawwerusch Theater), in 2016 in Looking for Orestie at La Fonderie Mans, and in 2019 in Hätte hätte Fahrradkette at Theaterhaus Jena as well as in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

In addition to her stage work, Inaam Al Battat has also appeared in numerous films and television productions in Germany.
