Hiba Obaid is a Palestinian journalist and author with a focus on storytelling and podcasting. She was born in Aleppo, where she studied Arabic literature before oppression from the Syrian regime forced her to flee. She has lived in Berlin for almost ten years. As a journalist, she has published reports, radio documentaries and opinion articles in Arabic, German and English – in both German newspapers and Arabic magazines. She works as an editor at Deutschlandradio. She also produces the Sonnenallee Podcast, an Arabic-language platform which tells stories from Berlin’s Sonnenallee and amplifies the voices of Arab migrants.
