Guido Kohn is a string player, improviser, and noise artist, born in 1988 in Buenos Aires and currently based in Berlin. With a background in classical cello training, he now moves fluidly between non-academic and popular music, performing in punk projects as well as in sounds closer to dance and nightlife. At the same time, he remains deeply rooted in the improvisation, experimental, and noise scenes. His current work explores the sonic possibilities that arise from the dialogue between instrument, preparations, digital processes, and analog effects.
He currently performs in projects such as Las Migrañas (with Santiago Jimenez), YEXXEN (with Sofía Salvo, Bobby Glew – Guttersnipe – and Claire Nico – Cuntroaches), ESETv3 (with Sofía Salvo), as well as in various yet-unreleased formations. He has performed at numerous festivals and tours across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, the UK, Czechia, Bulgaria, and Japan.
