Gemma Pörzgen studied political science, Slavic studies and Eastern European history in Munich. After completing her traineeship at the Frankfurter Rundschau, she worked as a correspondent for Southeast Europe and later for Israel/Palestine. Today she is a freelance journalist specializing in Eastern Europe in Berlin, online editor at Deutschlandfunk and editor-in-chief of the magazine Ost-West. Europäische Perspektiven. Gemma Pörzgen is a co-founder and board member of Reporters Without Borders Germany.
