She graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts in 2003. She worked as a volunteer in various associations, magazines and newspapers in Turkey and was professionally active as an art director in advertising agencies. Since 2016, Asar has been living in Berlin, where she works as the editorial coordinator of the European office of Birgün newspaper and is a member of the Bavul Kafe collective. She was also the artistic director of the exhibition Wir verrecken vor Lachen (2018, Kunstraum Kreuzberg), which was based on the humour magazine and comics tradition in Turkey.
