Hannes Weiler

The director Hannes Weiler, born in Stuttgart in 1981, was assistant director at the Deutsches Theatre Berlin and directed a version of Mikhail Bulgakov's grotesque work The Fatal Eggs in their box venue in 2009. From 2009 to 2011, Weiler was assistant director at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich and worked with René Pollesch, Stefan Pucher and Frank Castorf. In  2010 he developed the theatre/video performance Vanina Vanini, based on Stendhal’s novel of the same name, for the Schauspielhaus Zurich. In 2012 he continued to adapt Stendhal’s works, with Red and Black then switched gears for the five-part drama series Heidi's Nightmare - an associative Alps Experiment Vol. I-V, both at Schauspielhaus Zurich. His production Delirious Jena celebrated its world premiere at the Theatre Jena in 2014.
