Ofer Waldman

Ofer Waldman was born in Jerusalem and moved to Berlin in 1999 as a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra founded by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said. He played in several German and Israeli orchestras, including the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He has worked as a freelance author and journalist since 2015. In 2021 he won the ARD German radio play prize together with Noam Brusilovsky. His literary debut, Singularkollektiv. Erzählungen (Singular Collective: Stories), was published by Wallstein Verlag in 2023. Waldman is active in several NGOs. He lives in Israel and Deutschland.
