For BAM BAM BAM, we invite figures from diverse fields to talk about what has shaped their musical tastes: a song, an album, a concert, or an entire genre.

Whether they’re writers, artists, politicians, or athletes, what matters isn’t their fame, but the magic of their stories.

Guests from the worlds of literature, art, politics, and sports share stories, play music, show videos, and reveal their very personal connections to pop culture—as their space for experience, their personal archive of memories, or their political resonating chamber. The result is a series of musical presentations that blend elements of a lecture, a listening session, and an evening of storytelling and conversation. It’s a format through which the Gorki opens itself up to new voices and new audiences—while at the same time claiming its role as a place for shared listening and reflection.

"Popular culture is one of the sites where the struggle for and against a culture of the powerful is engaged.”  Stuart Hall
