Roger Sala Reyner

Roger Sala Reyner, born in 1981, is a Catalan-Spanish performance artist, dancer and choreographer based in Berlin. He completed a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Physical Theatre at Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and a Bachelor’s degree in Choreography at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam.

For nearly two decades, Sala Reyner has worked in the independent and experimental contemporary performance field as a performer, dancer, actor and choreographer. His practice explores the intersections of dance, theatre, music and sound-making, voice and visual art, with a particular focus on embodied storytelling. It is informed by physical theatre, postmodern dance, somatic approaches, improvisation and collaborative methodologies, spanning both stage-based and site-specific contexts.

His artistic collaborations include Meg Stuart, Jefta van Dinther, Adam Linder, Steve Paxton, Cosima Grand, Philippe Blanchard, Alma Söderberg and Guillaume Marie, among others. His work and performances have been presented internationally in a wide range of formats and contexts.

Roger Sala Reyner has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater since the 2026/27 season.
