Olafur Mowa

Despite his Icelandic first name, Olafur Mowa is rooted in Berlin, where he first made his way through the scene as singer and MC of the band GiGi Blow. His solo debut Post Internet Era was released on Staatsakt on 11 September 2026, produced by Jurek Stricker. The album moves between electro-pop, beats and soft guitars, drifting into hip hop sketches and fleeting Eurodance motifs; its title describes a generation raised on the internet that now lives between constant digital noise and analogue everyday life. Songs such as Selfie at the Beach hold on to the moment as an old-fashioned self-portrait, while Heaven Is a Hotel Room with You reworks a Lana Del Rey line into an unpretentious indie hit.
