The political alliance between the Wilhelmine Empire and the late Ottoman Empire was considered a »friendship«. The relationship was based on the expectation of mutual gain. Like a spider web tied together with a recurring theme, Der-Meguerditchian has intertwined photographic representations in her installation Entanglements. Her performance tells of the disastrous effects, the consequences of which remain to this day.
