Inga Gerner Nielsen was born in 1983 on the island Fyn in Denmark. She has combined a BA in Sociology and MA in Arts in Moderne Culture with artistically developing the genre of interventionist performance art installations together with groups in Scandinavia. IGN first started performing in the Danish/Austrian group SIGNA in 2003. In 2008 sheco-founded the Copenhagen-based activist performance collective Club de la Faye and in 2010 the performance agency Fiction Pimps. 2013 IGN directed the critically acclaimed, large-scale performance installation The Velvet State framing The Roskilde Festivals Art Zone. Same year she and choreographer Sarah Armstrong initiated the project Embodying Science reflecting the intersection of Art and Science. 2015 IGN worked on the dramaturgy of HEAVENs production of Music4Giants at the PSi Fluid Sounds Festival. Her most recent performance works are the one-to-one performance Seeing Pink Narcissus at Gallery 68 Squaremetres in Copenhagen and The Queeng of Ama’r in Hal Aterlierhaus Leipzig.
