The sociologist Armin Nassehi researches the Gesellschaft der Gegenwarten (Society of Presents) and examines how decisions are generated in complex situations, and how different social perspectives clash with each other in economics, politics, academia, media and culture. His latest book is Die letzte Stunde der Wahrheit. Warum rechts und links keine Alternativen mehr sind (Hour of Truth. Why Right and Left are no longer alternatives, 2015). Armin Nassehi grew up in Tübingen, Munich, Landshut, Teheran and Gelsenkirchen. He studied educational sciences, philosophy and sociology, and has been a professor of sociology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich since 1998.
